STRUCTURAL DRYING PROJECTS

Building 487 Mold Remediation, Pope AFB, NC

Building 487 is a hotel utilized to house Air Force personnel during assignments at Pope AFB. A water pipe burst on a weekend and was not discovered until early the next Monday morning. The Air Force was slow in responding to the incident and an extensive amount of microbial growth resulted. CCI was hired to complete the mold remediation of this facility and to prepare the facility for renovations. This project included the removal, cleaning, and storage of the salvageable hotel furniture. The project was completed in accordance with the specified schedule and final air sampling was conducted.

Office Area Structural Drying; Atlanta, GA

CCI was called to respond to a sprinkler pipe freeze that caused water damage to an 11,000-square foot office area. Upon inspection there was visible mold and water, along with a large amount of moisture trapped behind base boards and wall coverings. CCI personnel dried the space using six Phoenix 200 refrigerant dehumidifiers and 60 air movers to reduce the relative humidity of the space. The extremely high moisture trapped in the drywall and wall coverings compounded the difficulty of drying the space. Therefore, CCI personnel removed the lower third of the wall coverings before the commencement of drying. The wall coverings
were tacked to allow reinstallation of the coverings. The project was completed on time and within schedule.
